Dubai Economy and Tourism Expands Sustainable Tourism Stamp to Cover Major Attractions and Venues in 2026

Sustainable tourism initiative and eco-friendly hospitality in Dubai

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has announced the opening of applications for the second edition of the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp in 2026. Following the success of its inaugural cycle for hotels, the initiative has formally expanded to include tourist attractions, event venues, and entertainment sites, reinforcing the city's commitment to the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

To achieve this distinction, participating entities must undergo rigorous evaluations aligned with DET's '19 Sustainability Requirements'. These metrics cover key areas such as energy and water efficiency, reduction of single-use plastics, responsible waste management, staff training, and leadership in high-impact environmental practices.

A panel of industry experts supervised by DET will evaluate applicants to award Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels of recognition. This expansion of the program not only fosters an eco-friendly culture across the entire tourism value chain, but also further positions Dubai as a leading global destination for responsible tourism and conscious environmental management.
